We had our photograph taken today. It was so much fun! The last time I had it done, Kathryn was 3 months old, and it was so stressful that I didn't go to have professional photographs taken again until...today. And it was such a wonderful experience that I'll have it put in the budget every 6 months. I think I'll even bring Michael next time! Stay tuned for Mike's Senior pictures. I'm going to schedule them within the next month.

One car for a 6 member family in Houston, Texas is for crazy people. Hi, my name is Pam and I’m crazy. Yes, that’s right. We’ve decided to go through the summer with one vehicle. The kids and I have been getting a little stir crazy since the pool hasn’t opened and our options are limited to…
The duck pond…
And two nearby parks. So, I get this great idea. I’ve been walking 4 miles every morning for a few months now and I noticed that the kids were looking a little “soft”. Let’s walk to the local Kroger shopping strip! We dropped Kaleb off at his play group, loaded up the backpacks with water and took a break at…..
The duck pond….

This was the halfway mark. Then we walked up the road, past the construction of new apartments going up. We rested at the Starbuck’s outside seating area, ate lunch at the Subway, stepped into the Hollywood Video for 2 games, then to get Kenneth a haircut. The Hallmark was next to that, where we picked up 2 small candles, then to Kroger for dinner! I had a shopping list that was perfect. I loaded up the backpack and we walked all the way home. All that in 3 ½ hours!
Now, many of you may think, what’s so great about that? But I’m here to tell you that it was monumental. I don’t think I’ve EVER walked to a store. I only had to tell Kenneth to, “Butch up, Sally” one time :P He didn’t like that he was sweating in his underwear, as he so graciously explained it. It was a fun time. We’ll probably do it again, leaving at 8:30am as the weather gets hotter. What else is close? Sonic, Wendy’s, Taco Bell/ KFC, a pizza place in the food department. We pass an elementary school with a great playground. There’s a dollar store, McDonald’s, toy store, donut store, and other places I haven’t noticed when driving. Much to explore. Too far for Kaleb, but we do have a wagon….I don’t know. The Nazarene Church is on the edge of our neighborhood and they have women’s Bible studies, Vacation Bible School….I think we can stay busy. Plus, I get to log 90 minutes of walking in my food journal at CalorieKing.com! That was conservative too, but I didn't pay attention to how long the walk was.
